Counting the Bliss

“I believe as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”
–the White Queen in Looking Through the Glass and What Alice Found There-

Last month, Emma, a sweet friend of mine sent me a DVD of September Issue (thank you, dear..). It’s the documentary film about the making of Vogue’s most important issue: September. September is the January in fashion, they said. The film was fabulous. Really, to watch how these people actually working is moving. Anna Wintour, Grace Coddington, the team, the super skinny models, and the designers. Oh! How many of you would kill to be part of this, raise your hand! (yeep..I’m raising my hand too right now)

And guess what, as soon as I watch the movie, I went straight to Gwen –an imported magazine supplier in my city- and I specifically asked for American Vogue September issue. Just yesterday, the magazine arrived! Yaaay! It’s September 2009, super thick (584 pages of beautiful images and dreams), and it feels so powerful somehow. How I love Grace’s work.. Look at the fashion spread, it’s totally fashion fairy tale. *sigh dreamily*

As if the magic of the day is not enough, my dearest took me to watch the premier of Alice in Wonderland! *I’m amazed* It’s so magical in a way that I never at once guessed that this movie will be available in my city so soon, and I didn’t anticipate yesterday as the d day of the premier. In case you’re wondering, the movie wasn’t exactly the one from the book but the magic and some quotes remain. It’s beautiful, whimsical, and well, it’s Alice! If Wendy is the one I’m referring when I think about love; and The Little Price about philosophic thought of happiness and my ‘self’; it’s always Alice who makes me think of my own future. From now on, whenever I see a blue butterfly, I’ll remember the Wonderland too. You see, I always ready to jump into the rabbit hole. ;) I do have that tendency.
