L'Orange

*****

*****

This balloon skirt reminds me of an orange, someho
w. And that’s why I like it even more! Dressing up in an orange is so cartoony.

I bought the dress from my friend’s online store: Owl and Cat (oh, how I love the name! That bizarre love poem of the owl and the pussycat.. ah..). Anyway, I wasn’t intended to buy this skirt but my actual choice (a pretty orange flowery pencil skirt) got an accident and brutally burned by the hot iron. Sad. So sad. Tck. Tck. Tck.

But in the end, I bought the skirt anyway along with two other impulsive buy of a zebra skirt and a silk dress. They’re unbelievably cheap, I couldn’t resist.

As you can see here, I made a little adjustment of the skirt. I’m in this mood of mini skirt these days and I never really keen on midi-length skirt (not yet, I might change my mind someday). So, I ask someone to modify the midi-skirt into a mini balloon skirt with the customization price double to the skirt’s actual price. Ha!

Voila! It now looks like an orange. Sweet. Cute. Round. and it smells good. ;) Orange, anyone?

The Phoenix Transformation

*****

Once upon a time, there was once a young phoenix born from the ashes of her predecessor. She is rather clumsy as a young bird-of-fire. Instead of a thousand shades of gold glistened on its plumage like her predecessor, she only has a hint of golden feathers around her mild young eyes; which, as she grows up, fell down and leave her without any trace of golden shade.

As the day gone by, she grows flaming feathers on her head and her beak was the color of a rose. The trail of her flight was beaming with silvery strand of lights, like the lines of morning sunbeams in the cloudy day, surrounding her with endless white ray. This is so unlikely; for the other phoenix usually glows golden..

P.S.:
The Little Book of the Picnic Girl
2 will be published at February 24, 2010. This second booklet will be about a project of Tomoko Mukaiyama that I joined last December via Cemeti Art House. The title of LboPg II is “Wasted Project: The Phoenix Story”.

Since this is my first fashion-meets-art project, I will distribute the booklet even more exclusively. This time, I only have three printed copies left as a giveaway for you who answer this question:

“What do you like the most about the blog and the booklet of The Picnic Girl? Why? Which part might need an improvement?”

You can answer it by leaving a comment here, writing a review on your blog, via facebook, or you can always tweet me the answer. Oh, I can’t wait to hear from you, Dear!

Tadaaaaaa...

*****
Oh, I'm so excited!

The 1st edition of my booklet : The Little Book of the Picnic Girl is finally published. As I mentioned earlier, I only print it in a very very limited number and you can have it for free by pre-ordering to me. A week before the publishing date, it's all ordered up and I hardly have no booklet left for myself. So, I finally found a way to publish the PDF version: Issuu! Yay!

Now you can read and download the online booklet here.

Back to the printed edition thing.. the thing is, I want the booklet to have my 'personal touch' (as if all things written there wasn't 'me' enough). So, I make a DIY binding for each booklet and did the cutting myself. Since this 1st edition is about Ladies is bow, pearls, and so on.. I bind the booklet using pretty little satin bows, which available in three colors: brown, dusty pink, and bloody orange. Too bad I haven't got the photos of them yet by now.

Anyone who had read the booklet and already got the printed edition, please be kind to make a review or comment about it and leave your review link on the comment of this post. If you have a blog or any social sites, you can also download the book cover's photo (picture above) and link it to this link: http://issuu.com/thepicnicgirl/docs/the_little_book_of_the_picnic_girl_1

Lets share the passion to the world! ;)

The other thing is.. I finally made my first blog poster , taken from a LBoPG page designed by my talented friend Bentar Sadani (picture below). Once again, I wish you could publish it in your blog/social sites by downloading the picture, put it as a banner, and link it with my blog: http://thepicnicgirl.blogspot.com

Thank you for your sweet attention, Loveliest.. <3!>

Celebrating My Days at Cups!

*****

I remember five years ago when I regularly spend some times in a coffee shop reading or talking, I had this dream of having a little cafe of my own. I want it to be as fresh as mint in the morning with the morning breeze, and as warm as cinnamon in the evening. Last year, that dream comes true~ except for the part of morning minty fresh feeling. So, at the 1st anniversary of my little cafe, I make my whole dream come true! I renovate my cafe and paint it blue-green and white. I hand picked the little details and put up lots of my interest on it. Girly stuff, the flying love birds, figurine, and a dash of fairy tale (do you recognize some childhood's stories symbol such as Mrs.Potty and Cinderella's shoes and carriage?) ;)

So, my dear reader, let me introduce: Cups Little Cafe. My morning minty-fresh and afternoon-cinnamon-warm little cafe. A little dream comes true.
