Capturing Sunset | Rainbow | Bubbles

*****

Years ago, I fell in love with sunset. So beautiful, it's painful. Watching the tail of the sun setting down in the horizon feels like enjoying a glass of white wine over a melancholic jazzy music. Now and then I try to hang it right there, right at the most beautiful moment when the golden edge showers the earth with pure golden shade before night creeps in.

When I was so much younger, I was this little girl falling in love with the rainbow. Sweet and colorful at the same time; just like thin transparent candy owned by children of the heaven. It's presence always be a pleasant surprise. There are days of longing for the rainbow after a heavy rain, or in a sunny drizzle. In days when I miss my love the most, I'll try to meet him by pouring fresh water toward the sun using water hose.

Today, the rainbow is captured in bubbles and  the sunset frozen on my tights. Well, hello my love ones.. meeting you, my heart flies a little.

Enrolling for Spring

(look! there are bubbles flying around!)

*****

Have you checked on Style.com's Spring 2011 Trend Report? Sheer, all things white, lace, colors, and dots everywhere (that's the mighty Garance saying)

Considering my eternal love to chiffon, whites, and laces, I think it's such an indulging season for me.  Nooo.. don't get me wrong. I'm not this kind of trendy girl who's following the fashion all the time, but, this Spring* is different.. I just need to be prepared (to embrace my hidden SuperSpringy soul inside me, that is)

Really, those are the lousiest excuses I've ever made for indulging a Spring shopping spree or what?! ;p.. but, seriously.. Spring* is no time for excuses or feeling guilty.. it's beauty everywhere! Embrace it! So, welcome new closet members.. your request of enrollment has been granted!

(White Chiffon Dress and Blue Dotty Dress~ both from A+ Boutique)

I fell in love instantly with the white dress and once upon a time when I read a blogger's post featuring the blue dress, my heart skipped a bit. I adore the dress but I was broken hearted because I thought it's already taken.. but.. guess what.. it's not! *yeay*

*****

(Floral Deep Blue Top~ a birthday gift from my friend Dee)

A versatile top that can magically transformed into a mini balloon skirt and especially friendly on the hottest Spring* day.

*****

(Pink Jacket~ Bonanza from my mom, Belts~ A+, and Salem Boots~ Garage Shop)

The jacket is a gift from my mom while the Salem Boots is a total guilty pleasure which is so much healthier than cheesecakes (although I don't need more boots, seriously.. and I don't know what to wear with a Salem shoes..It was always been black/ white/ brown shoes for me). So, same old story.. I was disappointed when I first saw the Garage Shop's catalog and find out that this delicate boots is not available in my size. until.. someone contact me, saying that she owns the exact size that I wanted, never been worn~ ever! (apparently, she just can't fit in! Lucky me!) ..and she gave me huge discount *yeay!

(*) No, we don't have Spring in my country.. there's only wet or dry season.. rainy or sunny season.. that's it! Yet, I always consider my hometown with its glorious morning and fabulous mountain air that can embodied 'Spring' perfectly. ;)

Burtonesque by Heart

*****

Naaah.. I'm not referring Burtonesque as the theme of this photo shoot (just yet..that's something I really want to do anyway).. it's more like being Burtonesque by heart.

You know.. like.. being this cherry merry girl in spring-y tulip dress who enjoy stepping on a rubber-duck until it quacked and squeezed out of shape. A girl who preserve her puddle in mercury and paint it in pink, dragged it around, spray some sweet tender fragrant around its dead body and cram a pebble into its little mouth to keep it cutely open.

Wearing a furry earmuff in the hottest day of spring just to stay in her solitude~ out of all the sound of the wild wide world. And just so you know, that earmuff might be made of eight little hamster's fur on each side, skinned alive using an apple knives, sewed carefully using the prettiest needle available. Eight living hamsters in each side of the earmuff.

She loves to keep the rainbow in a bubble as her precious hostage, just for herself. Never let anyone else enjoy its beauty. Not to mention her innocent happy smile as she skin the hamster, preserve little pets, and squeeze all the cutest thing under her heels.

Not Burtonesque enough for you?

Well.. do watch all his darkly humorous and romantic movie and do read this book by Tim Burton: The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories. And welcome to the world where Melon Boy's head stepped on into pieces, the world where a girl won a stare competition, or get disturbed by The Boy with Nails in His Eyes (even just by its title, no?)

Then, tell me, how Burtonesque are you?

My Shadow

The difference between friends and pets is that friends we allow into our company,
pets we allow into our solitude

Shadow. Some of you might already aware of his name and a little drama we recently had. (No? read here and here about him three years ago)

That opening quote above can't be more fit to describe my relationship with Shadow. In my solitude, Shadow will always be the one protecting me and my heart from any harm. He is just perfect to be my daydreaming pal and his hug is always comforting. With him, I'll take a longer walk to the unknown path and deeper heart of the forest. I know I'm safe.

Shadow is all about unconditional love. Loving and just loving.  We had this on-and-off relationship (because I'm asthmatic, Shadow has to stay separately in my villa instead of my house..). In some glorious day, I'll jump right away there (2 minutes away from my home) and take a walk with Shadow to the secret garden or the forest nearby

Often my day seize me away and we separated for a week or more. Even then, he would always there, waiting for me patiently, hug me persistently, and gets really really excited when I'm around. He never get bored, never gets cranky, never demanding, and always be so nice. Now, what is that but an unconditional love, eh? And just like an old shoes, the more he spend time with me, the more comfortable we are to each other.

Not only handsome, Shadow is very caring. Just look at the sparkle in his eyes and his smile, as if he keeps saying that everything is alright. In other time, he can be the most curious and the silliest dog ever. Adorable!

Shadow is my valentine..

Moon, Myth, and Spring

*****

I love the fact that we Indonesians have so many new years. The New Year, Lunar New Year, Hindu New Year (Nyepi), and Islamic/ Javanese New Year. It feels as if everyone gets second, third, and fourth chance to renew things in life.. so full of hope! With all those diversity, understanding and loving are suppose to be natural, aren't they?

Several days ago, we just had Lunar New Year. It's now the year of Golden Rabbit (seriously, how cute is that, eh?). The celebration starts at the New Moon on the first day of the year. Even sweeter, the Lunar New Year is sometime also referred as the Beginning of Spring.

The celebration is dominated in red~ so festive and joyful. Red is the color Nian fear the most. A myth told that Nian (meaning 'Year') is the name of a monster with a large mouth able to swallow people whole. Yet, Nian later went after other beast to prey instead of chasing and preying people. People put up red paper decorations on their windows and doors at the year's end to scare away Nian if he should come back.

Moon..myth..spring.. can anything be more ethereal than that? *melting*

And, ladies.. meet Rosetta.. my red pet fish that looks more like a floating rose petal rather than a fish. We would like to wish you a happy Lunar New Year.. may this year brings happiness, health, wealth, peace, and prosperity in your life.
