Sewing Picnic

*****

Just a few weeks ago, the pretty girls from Hello Bleu came to me and propose this idea of having a picnic while learning how to sew on a craft workshop. The idea evolved and after an hour talk, we decided to have not one but two crafting workshop, a sleepover, an afternoon tea party, a girls-only BBQ night, short tour around Kaliurang, night beauty ritual, and many more.. of course, everything will be themed, nicely presented, decorated in the quirkiest way, there will be dress codes, and everything will be nicely captured.

It's like a long photo session.. or a long ladies party.. or just a heavenly retreat for girls who enjoy crafting and fresh air and the beautiful nature! We'll indulge you in a fun and pretty picnic.

I'm Feeling Lucky!

*****

So I guess this blog has evolved more into my personal blog rather than that fashion blog I intended to create 3 years ago.. :))) well.. I think I'll just go with the flow..

These two days, I had the time of my life. It involves the tree-climbing photo I've always wanted to take (but never actually did, until now); a spontaneous Ice Cream Potluck Party I just held earlier this day; and a mini visit to the old blueprint of my dream.

::The Happy Dress::

*****

But first, lets talk about this sunflower dress.

Is it just me or do you also think that this dress is a bit over the top? I mean, with all the bright color and huge prints.. I don't normally do those things..but, when I first saw this dress my mind goes to Stela McCartney Citrus print dress (here) and I was kinda intrigued by such vibrant happiness in a piece of fashion item. I enjoy wearing this dress just as much as I have no idea where and when to wear it. Challenging!!

::Ice Cream Potluck Party::

*****

This is a very cheerful dress and I heart it. That, I know.

What I didn't know is..whether I was spontaneously throw an Ice Cream Potluck Party this afternoon because deep down inside I was dying to wear this dress..or whether it was actually the bright sunny day that inspire me to both wearing this dress and throwing an ice cream party.. or whether today I was actually in that mood of anything summery..

Still laying in my bed, this morning I made a random twit about ice cream party and some friends replied.. so, naturally.. voila! A party it is.. Bisma brought the most delicious caramel-flavor ice avocado, Wid brought savory treats that saves the day, Dito brought classic bread to go with the ice cream, Ocha brought the exotic 'Pinch-Cake' while I made Jasmine Milktea Float and Affogato.

We were all so sugar-high, and gossips keep flowing with the sugar rush. Very refreshing indeed! *super happy*

::A Blueprint of a Dream::

*****

Yesterday, was also a very fun day for me. My lecturer (who's also my thesis supervisor and one of the most persistent cheerleader in making my Lir dream came true since 4 years ago)..he called and offered me to be a guess lecturer in his entrepreneurship class. I was more than happy to say yes!

First, I feel a slight of responsibility to present the eight step of my thesis content: business initiation. (My thesis was about making Lir.. ;)) Second, I think presenting this business will be just as thrilling for me as it is for Pak Jiwan, my thesis supervisor. The project has actually felt like our project, you see? Third, after that nervous breakdown on PechaKucha presentation, I'd really like to make it up in this presentation..simply as a matter of satisfaction..

How was the presentation, you ask?

It was.. making my day! The students look excited, I didn't get nervous, and most importantly: it was the stars in pak Jiwan's eyes when I was presenting..I'm feeling lucky! (Right, stop me..I'm getting cheesy)

Now, it's time to call it a day!

A Short Crafty Trip

*****

I recently spent the weekend in Bandung for Tobucil's Crafty Day, a bit of shopping, and a studio visit at Oma Anna's. It was short, yet, it was very intense. I'm loving every turns and surprises this city offers. Most importantly, I'm so happy to meet friends and new friends there. Pure bliss.. :)

Now, let the pictures do the talk!

::The Journey Begin::

Traveling on the day train..indulging my soft spot for endless blue sky, rural street under the trees, and abandoned house..lets me daydream freely!

::Journ(al)ey::

I had to give a special credit to this brand, Journ(al)ey, for being totally quirky, detail, and personalized. It won my heart right away! So, Cherry of Journ(al)ey makes the best journal ever. I'm easily fall for anything detail, carefully picked, made mostly by hand, and have a certain degree of quirkiness in it; just like this journal.

The journal above is a travel journal with a bonus: a giveaway. If you buy one A5 size travel journal, you will have the chance to win the personalize journal below..which,my friend..is carefully hand painted based on the theme. This one below, was an Alice in Wonderland themed journal. She also makes the prettiest bookmark with matching charm (I'll show you in the next blog post).. now.. feel free to browse around for her work shown below:

 My favorite street food: lumpia basah! :9

A short visit to Selasar Sunaryo Art Space, my old workplace.

Taking weird pictures is what I do during boredom moments waiting for this pink angkot to actually move. Seriously.

::Oma Anna Shop and Studio::

Oma Anna is one of my favorite brand for handmade notebooks and customized book (alongside with Vitarlenology).. but long before I know that she also makes book, I was always loving her homemade jam.. especially the Sarikaya and Orange Jasmine Marmalade. :9 :9 :9

I've always wanted to visit mbak Mei (Oma Anna) shop and studio. So, that day, through the heavy rain..we finally have the chance to visit her place. My sister and I were blown away. she's the best host, and it was a very intense talk that ends up into a mutual relationship between our two shops/art space...yayness!!

The letter press machine in her studio #1

Her tin can collections.. *lovestruck*
