Mono No Aware

*****

Mono no aware (物の哀れ), literally "the pathos of things", and also translated as "an empathy toward things", or "a sensitivity to ephemera", is a Japanese term used to describe the awareness of impermanence (無常 mujō), or transience of things, and a gentle sadness (or wistfulness) at their passing. mono no aware has frequently been translated as "the 'ahh-ness' of things", life, and love. Awareness of the transience of all things heightens appreciation of their beauty, and evokes a gentle sadness at their passing. (generated from Wikipedia)

It is the pinch in your heart watching the sun goes down.. secretly wish that you own an invisible string to gently hang the twilight in its best: warm golden stream of light falls on your cheek, birds flying home above you, the sky is clear with a burst of golden pink, and the beloved one sitting right next to you.

It is the feeling that you have when you spend a beautiful evening with some friends, sharing laughter and stories..and the night creeps in anyway..and everyone have to go home and you wish that they can stay and the moment will last. But the sun sets anyway..and the night falls anyway.. and the moment is gone.

It is a rare feeling that floats calmly and gently through the heart of a poetry.. and  it is the feeling when something is so beautiful; the moment of its passing bring certain melancholia. But there is no pause button..so you just enjoy the transition, flow with the wistful thinking, and wait for another sunset, another hug, another walk in the rainy day, and another chance to experience the gentle transition of moment to moment.

"Take Note with Your Camera!", he said.

"A photograph is subject to the viewer's memory, aesthetics, and feelings—
all of which affect how the photograph is seen."

Life has been flashing before my eyes in a blinding speed.
That's how I start using my camera as a pen: I take note with it.
Uhm.. more likely, I scribble with it.
