Meet the adorable Simalakamma girls: Elia and Dina. I recently curate their exhibition and I looove working with these two quirky ladies. What they create is more than just a bag or a purse. It is almost entirely handmade, carefully crafted, wearable, and unique- for every design, there is only one kind of item available. This exhibition shows the whole process of making Simalakamma products; from designing, screen printing, stitching, sewing, and turning the whole process into a piece of wearable artwork.
The exhibition is still ongoing until February 20, 2013 at Lir Space.
