Thoughts: When You Grow Up, Some Things Grow Out of You.

“Susi, do you have any idea of what it is to let go of something you love and cherish? the further you travel the more aware you become of that something you left behind and the more oppressive it feels to be making the journey alone. It’s as if the lifeblood flowed from your wounds as you walked, drop by drop, onto the ground below. All because of promises made and promises broken”

*****

People say that when you turn 27, you will make an important decision that will change the path of your life. A few days ago, I just celebrated my 27th birthday having that thought in my mind.. looking forward for whatever it is in front of me. Yes, I have chosen my path a few years ago when I was 24 and take an important turn of my life. Seems like this age of 27 is the time I need to responsible for that.

Looking backward, I see how as we grow up..some things grow out of us. For example, I don't think I am still interested in all things fashion as I used to be when I first start this blog. I simply grow out of it. Maybe it's time to change the whole thing about this blog. It's like how things go with an old friends who grow out of each other.. we chose the different path and it  simply diverge without any visible encounter ahead. Promises made and promises broken.

Looking forward, with the whole wedding and a little house for two waiting ahead of me; a career and a higher degree to pursue; a dream to nurture; and a life to live to the fullest..I guess it is now the time to actually grow up and set all the worries aside.  To live, is one great adventure, so Peter says! I can't be more excited.

This post is not yet the last outfit post in this blog (I still have another sponsor-goodies to post), but it will soon change into more of a picnic and art blog..maybe with some food and places review too, but probably no outfit nor fashion post anymore.

You see.. some things just grow out of you as you grow up.
It slips through your fingers I guess.. :)

You might need a bit of time and space to digest the change..

The Last Outfit Post

*****

I got this pretty blouse from my beloved sponsor, DhieVine, a few months ago (yes, my bad..) and only had the chance to publish it now..just before the Valentine's day. Do you notice that Valentine-y heart shape pocket made of batik and that perfect sheer fuchsia? It actually has a very pretty back detail that I didn't manage to photographed (again..my bad).. but, you can always visit their website here to check the detail yourself and do a little online shopping, here.

As I mentioned in my previous post, this is going to be my last outfit post (one that only feature outfit). The blog will still be active but I am still thinking about a whole new concept for the Picnic Girl. More picnic, daily life, art, food, and places with a view, I guess.. more of picture I take myself, perhaps.. I am still working it out.

Do you have any request?

"I'll be a t-shirt jean-ious", She Said

*****

Do you notice anything different?

Well.. a friend thought that I am not a jeans-and-tshirt kind of girl (pffft.. how silly, right?).. so, I browse this blog and only find two posts of me wearing jeans out of two hundred posts I published ..and thus, I realize.. even in my daily life; that ratio is also note how often I actually wear this most basic fashion item = 2:200.

Since I am still in my new year's mood with all these resolutions to surprise myself, do things off my limits, try those thing I normally wouldn't, and all those positive vibes.. I accept my friend's challenge to wear only jeans and t-shirt just the way it is (meaning: I shouldn't wear the t-shirt as headband or scarf or anything possible but plain as its nature). Guess what, I actually enjoy the challenge!

After some failed attempt and deleted pictures, here are the results that I actually like:

*****

1st
"Little Boy Just Wants to Play"

The idea:
Since I have a pixie cut, I've always wanted to disguise as a boy. This is my chance, right?! :))) Do I look boyish enough? (please say I do..pretty please with a cherry on top..)

What I wear:
Cemprut raccoon sleeping mask as a headband, brown wool shawl, my sister's stripe t-shirt, Fly Shoes sneakers, and a boyfriend jeans.

*****

2nd
"Becoming Jane"

The Idea:
one of my muse, Jane Birkin, is actually a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl who managed to look stylish and sultry in every way. Her rules are simple.. a comfortable jeans that she wears everyday, simple or plain t-shirt, espadrille or ballet flat, and a picnic basket. This look is inspired by this picture.

What I wear:
My favorite straw hat, basic white t-shirt, boyfriend jeans, Amante red-sole high heels, and straw bag.

*****

3rd
"All Stolen from My Boyfriend's Closet (except the shoes)"

The idea:
Boyfriend everything was once very hot in fashion (yet, I never really follow fashion..you see..). Still, I agree that there is a certain sexiness of this boyfriend's outfit concept.

What I wear:
Man's bow tie worn as a headband, sunglass from Go-Girl!, my bf's t-shirt, my bf's leather belt, a boyfriend jeans, and Absolutee ankle boots.

*****

4th
"Off-Stage Rocker"

The idea:
I can't believe I still keep this biker jacket after all these times. I am glad I didn't throw it away after my high-school style fades away. It's a classic I start to think of pairing it with fancy dress. Another fun fact, this is actually how I used to dress up in high-school when I was still listening to No Use for a Name, Box Car Racer, The Strokes, Foo Fighters, and all that. Yes, laugh on!

What I wear:
Rockman biker jacket I own since 2002, skinny jeans from my college year, tight white t-shirt, salem boots from Garage Shop, and Folk Afternoon's guitar.
